Hello and welcome to our website!
Littlesingaporebook.com is an interactive companion site to The Little Singapore Book. Written for children between 5 and 10 years old with the help of the SG50 Celebration Fund, the book presents the fascinating story of Singapore from 14th century to present day. It introduces young readers to Singapore’s history and culture through vivid storytelling and delectable illustrations, peppered with a host of little known facts that many didn’t know. For instance, did you know that Mongols came to Singapore 700 years ago to buy elephants? And that the history of Singapore goes back waaay beyond Raffles’ landing in 1819?
To complement the book, this companion website will contain more stories, activities and nuggets of information about our past and present, to add to the enjoyment of The Little Singapore Book.
Written for kids, and also with parents and teachers in mind, we hope that you’ll find much fun and pleasure in discovering the fascinating heritage and rich culture of Singapore. As the site will be updated regularly with new materials, pop in often to find new surprises.
Meanwhile, if you have any suggestions or questions about this book, or if you just want to drop us a friendly hello, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.
